Barking and Dagenham International Workers Memorial Day

Dear Friend

I would like to invite you to join us on International Workers Memorial Day. This day of remembrance will take place on Monday 28th April 2025 at 12.30pm.

International Workers’ Memorial Day is an annual day of remembrance dedicated to workers who have died because of their work, whether through accident or disease.

We meet each year at the memorial to those who have lost their lives due to exposure to asbestos. This memorial was initiated by Barking, Dagenham and Havering Trades Union Council, and was brought to fruition in partnership with The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.

We ask you to lay wreaths or flowers at the memorial.  These can be left in Barking Town Hall on the morning of Monday  28th April, to be laid after the two minutes silence to remember those who have died.

Barking Train Station is 5 minutes walk to the Town Hall.

Refreshments  and lunch  will be provided in Barking Town Hall.  We look forward to welcoming you on the day.

Yours fraternally,

Susan Aitouaziz  [email protected]
