Emergency Rally Save Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club!

This Monday we’re holding an emergency rally at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club as we step up the fight to save the iconic venue from closure. We’re calling on the committee of BGWMC to halt plans to close the doors on drag and cabaret events at the club and pause any plans to sell the venue.

Equity is determined to preserve the program of regular and consistent performance that has been a fixture of Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club for 20 years. Spaces like BGWMC are a vital source of income for our members, but also a rare safe space for performers to hone their craft, and an irreplaceable part of East London’s night-life ecology.
