Global Day of Action for Climate Justice - regional rally and march in Leeds

Global Day of Action for Climate Justice - Trade Union Year of Climate Action
Rally and march for climate justice on the middle weekend of the COP climate summit in Brazil.

We hope for a really visible trade union presence, as a key part of the Trade Union Year of Climate Action - climate change is a class issue and a trade union issue, and it's time for us to step up and fight for the changes that will help preserve a liveable future for ourselves and our communities.

Governments are putting the profits of the fossil fuel corporations before people's lives. In the UK itself, millions of homes will soon become uninsurable; food poverty will deepen as droughts and floods affect food supplies and push up prices; the old, young and millions of workers risk illness and death from excess heat...

The bosses' and governments' "transition" is costing us the earth - literally - through its profit-driven false solutions and through rising prices and deepening austerity.

We need a transition led by and for workers and communities, in solidarity with our siblings all around the world, that genuinely slashes emissions whilst fighting poverty and inequality, establishes democratic public control of core industries and decommodifies life's essentials.
Please join us.
