Urgent: Lobby special Swindon Council meeting Monday 5pm!

Thank you for signing our petition - the pressure is working!

Swindon Borough Council has agreed to hold an extraordinary meeting to scrutinise the transfer of community health services to HCRG and we must be there to lobby them. Will you come?

Date & Time: Meet 5pm Monday 17 March (meeting starts at 6pm)

Meeting Place: Front steps, Civic Offices, Euclid St, Swindon, SN1 2JH

Contact: WhatsApp/call Stuart Melvin, UNISON Area Organiser on 07939 143473

Community health services - and 3000 health workers - across BANES, Swindon & Wiltshire are due to be handed over to HCRG, a profit-making firm owned by billionaire private equity investors, on 1 April.

This decision has not been made properly (no full business case, no consultation, no impact assessment, no treasury approval) and risks disruption to patient care and damage to health workers pay and conditions.

UNISON has been petitioning and lobbying councils to refer the decision to the Secretary of State Wes Streeting. This week BANES council agreed to take this step and now Swindon council have called a special meeting to discuss the issue. UNISON has submitted questions and will rally outside.

This is a big opportunity to protect our health services. Please come with us if you can.

Ps. Can't join us? Please write to your councillor here: https://action.unison.org.uk/page/166134/action/1
