Support your local bus workers

RMT is fighting for professional wages for professional bus workers and our members are leading that charge right across the country.

It's well established that we are facing a national shortage of bus drivers as staff leave over poor pay and conditions. It is ridiculous that Stagecoach have chosen this moment to hammer their staff over pay. The consequences for local services will be horrific.

Stagecoach are a wealthy company that can afford to pay their staff a decent wage and who received taxpayer support of nearly £300 million during the COVID pandemic and made £32 million in profits from bus operations.

Why is this important?

Stagecoach has had taxpayer support of nearly £300 million during the COVID pandemic and made £32 million in profits from bus operations.

Hundreds of bus workers are leaving the industry because they can earn better wages elsewhere. This exodus of staff threatens lifeline bus services if Stagecoach don't face up to reality.

RMT Stagecoach staff provide vital services to our local communities. All our members are asking for is fair pay that recognises their hard work. Professional staff deserve professional wages.
