Better Bus Tour & Petition Hand-In

12,000 people have now signed YOUR petition calling for West Yorkshire's buses to come into public control. Congratulations!

Friday (January 5th) marks 48 hours to go until the Mayor closes her consultation on doing just that. We're going to hand the petition in to mark that moment.

We are planning to:
- hand in our petition, printed as 2.4m banner with all the signatures on, next Friday (5th) to get more press on the consultation.
- carry it on local buses to each council town/city in West Yorkshire to show how poor privatised services are: Bradford-Halifax-Huddersfield-Wakefield-Leeds.
- host a photo opportunity in each bus station so the local press covers it.
- assemble a small stunt outside the Mayor’s Offices at 2.30pm with speeches from local groups and unions.

We would be delighted to have your support for the action in one of the following ways. Join us for:
- the photo action at your local bus station (20mins): Bradford (9.20), Halifax (10.20), Huddersfield (11.20), Wakefield (13.30), and Leeds (14.10).
- one leg of the journey from your local town/city — e.g., join our ride from Halifax to Huddersfield on the 503 (40mins) and then return home.
- the entire tour from your local area to Leeds on local buses and the city centre hand-in.
- the petition hand-in only on City Square in Leeds at 2.30 before marching to Tracy Brabin's office.
