CWU LIGHT UP PURPLE CAMPAIGN 2026

The wider North West CWU & Merseyside IWMD committee, started a campaign to light up iconic North West buildings & landmarks in purple for IWMD 2022

The first 3 North West Iconic buildings to do this in 2022 were

More regional landmarks agreed to Light up for IWMD 2023 and again in 2024 & 2025 many more buildings and town halls and workplaces including MANY NORTH WEST HOSPITALS have agreed to 'light up purple' for IWMD thanks to campaigning by other trade unions.

Across the WHOLE OF THE UK we want more buildings / landmarks / bridges / churches / Town halls to join us in remembering the estimated 2.7 million workers who die globally each year as a result of Occupational accidents or work-related diseases.
