Harlow International Memorial Day

International Workers Memorial Day, on 28 April, commemorates workers who have lost their lives as a result of a fatal injury or illness caused by their occupational. Whether it be a fall from height or a chemical exposure, thousands of people in Britain every year die as a result of work causes.
For 2026, the TUC is focusing on the need to prevent violence at work — we want a greater protections from verbal and physical abuse and violence in workplaces, and protections enshrined in law, too.
Stand with us this year to remember the victims of unsafe work, and commit to workplaces from which everyone comes home, safe and healthy. Unions make work safe.
Here's the details of our event:
We'll meet first in The Greyhound carpark before making our way to our lovely wee tree (just planted last year) where we'll remember those damaged or killed in the course of their work. We'll remember the dead and resolve to fight for the living.
