Justice for the Sacked Workers of Almost Famous Burgers - Pay Us What We're Due!

Two weeks ago, over 100 restaurant workers in Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds found out via social media and the press that Almost Famous Burgers would be closing immediately and that they were out of a job. Now they are owed more than £200k in unpaid wages, tips, holidays and notice pay.
Throughout January, the owners of one of the North West's most iconic chains had staff working overtime to serve thousands of customers with huge 50%-off deals which made the company tens of thousands in the space of a few weeks.
Despite this, the company has gone into liquidation and the workers have been left penniless during one of the hardest months of the year, still owed more than £200,000 in unpaid wages, tips, holidays and notice pay.
Actions from the owners in the weeks running-up to the closure would suggest that they knew that the company was going under weeks before the workers were told. Instead of consulting their workers as early as possible - in accordance with well-established employment law - they kept quiet and allowed the workers to continue making profit for them knowing that they may never be paying them their wages & tips.
To add insult to injury, the same directors have recently opened up a new burger restaurant a few metres away from the now closed workplace on Thomas Street, called Super Awesome Deluxe which hopes to open new branches across the North West. These business owners should not be allowed to just phoenix one company reincorporate under a different name and carry on making profit while over 100 workers are left jobless and owed £thousands.
We are campaigning for these workers to receive the justice they deserve: financially, legally and politically but we need your help!
For the people of Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds to vote with their feet and boycott Super Awesome Deluxe restaurants.

Why is this important?
Unite Hospitality are campaigning for these workers to receive the justice they deserve: financially, legally and politically but we need your help!
We want to send a clear and collective message to unscrupulous bosses across the country - you cannot and will not get away with treating your workers like this. Through collective action and union support, we will fight back and win!
To the Labour Government that promised to "Make Work Pay", we need decisive action which stops workers from being treated like this ever again. The incoming Employment Rights Act should include a clause which unequivocally outlaws pheonixing and bans such business owners from ever holding the office of Company Director again.
