Stop the support staff job cuts at CUH

NHS England has mandated a reduction to April 2022 levels on "support services", with around 250+ jobs being cut at Cambridge University Hospitals. These support services can be plumbers, porters, administrators, trainers and more.
We don't think this is the right move for the NHS generally, or Cambridge specifically. The NHS has one of the lowest administrative spends compared to EU neighbours. Our city is on the grow - 18% in 15 years is anticipated. There is a new children's hospital, and cancer hospital, on the way. These roles will surely grow again over time.
We are asking for these cuts to be halted. We are asking for a representative from NHS England to engage with our "staff side" (Trade Union) organisations and talk about what this means for Cambridge, and a long-term staffing plan.

Why is this important?
We are concerned this is going to increase waiting lists; increase outsourcing, stopping "things getting done"; stretch clinical staff further by doing tasks they previously would have relied on colleagues to do, as well as stretching their attention.
This affects our whole community - not only on quality and timeliness of patient care, but also on the financial impact of a reduction in hundreds of jobs in our communities.
