Mass bus boarding demo! Double the doors for faster, safer, accessible buses!

***DATE CHANGE!!! The Demo is now taking place on Weds 17 December!!!***
Parents & disabled users are fighting for better access to our buses.
Join our mass bus boarding demo on Weds 17 December as we deliver our consultation response on bus accessibility to Mayor Tracy Brabin.
Meet: Leeds bus station main entrance (New York Street)
When: 11am on Weds 17 December
What: Bring your wheelchair, your walking frame, your push chairs, your shopping bags! We're boarding the bus at Leeds Bus Station with as many wheelchairs, walking frames and pushchairs as we can fit on board. We'll ride it to Wellington St to deliver our demands to Mayor Tracy Brabin's office.
Everyone is welcome whether you’re a disabled user, parent or neither!
With 4 days until Tracy Brabin’s consultation on bus design closes, we’re making some noise to draw attention to how bad the mayor’s bus design proposals are for safe, accessible and fast buses.
We want the mayor to establish a passengers board of user groups, including disabled people, to co-design bus reform proposals with her.
When in March 2024, the mayor decided to bring the region's buses into public control she described the move as "local control" that "puts the public at the heart of our bus network, ensuring buses truly serve the needs of our communities."
But a Freedom of Information Request from We Own It revealed that the Mayor's office has no "plans to consult bus passengers, businesses, and communities on the content of the contracts and the procurement process."

Help us fight for better buses and join our demo. Together we can change her mind.
