Edinburgh City Council: Pledge for Public Services

Edinburgh Council trade unions have launched a campaign asking elected members to pledge for public services.

The campaign makes three key asks of elected officials:

- No compulsory redundancies

- Keep public services publicly owned

- Demand more funding from the Scottish & UK governments for our City Council.

Sign the unions petition and demand that all Cllrs take the pledge for public services.

Why is this important?

Edinburgh City Council faces a £76m funding black hole and we have seen over many years now, the devastating impact of austerity and cuts to council budgets and the threat to democratic accountability. Local government is under pressure as never before.
