Keep Offshore Workers Safe at Sea

There is a vacuum of regulatory cover, illustrating the reality faced by workers while trying to make a living in the offshore industry either as a seafarer or project crew.
There should be a mandatory UK state parallel investigation into any incident onboard any type of vessel/installation irrespective of the flag of vessel or nationality of the worker involved.

Why is this important?
The UK should not be reliant upon authorities in Liberia, Panama or Antigua if an incident or death occurs whilst working in or transiting from the UK offshore energy sector.
Offshore energy workers and seafarers should be afforded the same level of protection as land based workers in the UK and the regulatory gaps should be closed.
