Build Northern Powerhouse Rail in full! Bring high-speed rail to our cities and towns.

Railway connections in the North are fundamentally broken and we are being short-changed. MPs in Yorkshire must push for new, high-speed railways that our towns, cities and communities deserve.
Why is this important?
People in Yorkshire are shocked by Westminster’s decision to scrap plans to build a new high-speed rail line from Leeds to Liverpool.
East-west connections between Northern towns and cities are not only poor but incredibly slow. Bradford, the seventh largest city in the UK, is also one of the worst connected.
Our region is the home of British railways, yet we are being left behind.
We have to put up with endless delays, constant cancellations and overly long travel times. An 87-mile journey from York to Liverpool takes two hours — that’s almost the same journey as the 213-mile route from London to Paris!
Over and over again, the UK government has said that our communities deserve “levelling up”. That we should have real, sizable upgrades to our day-to-day transport services, which are already well overdue.
We were promised 74,000 new jobs through the new high-speed train line, and finally a new station for Bradford’s half-million residents.
But Yorkshire has yet again been left in the cold by this government.
We have been deceived and betrayed by empty promises for seven years — without a single yard of track ever being laid on the ground.
It’s time to make our outrage heard.
Call on MPs in Yorkshire to safeguard the future of our region and deliver on plans to build Northern Powerhouse Rail in full. Otherwise the whole country — not just the North — will pay the price.
