To: Northamptonshire PFCC Scrutiny Panel

Northants PFCC must go

Recent decisions made by the PFCC, Stephen Mold, have been nothing short of a sham. Appointing a friend with no fire service experience to the position of Chief Fire Officer shows he is not fit for the role.

Now is the time Stephen Mold resigned. If he refuses, the PFCC panel must hold him to the highest account and see that a new PFCC is put in place.

Why is this important?

The position of a PFCC should be held by someone with integrity and who can make competent and professional decisions. The current PFCC is not that person.

The PFCC is the governance of one of the most trusted and reliable workforces in the public’s time of need. The fire service, firefighters, and the public deserve better.

Since this petition started, “1 mistake Mold” has several more mistakes to his name.

Most recently misogynistic comments, remarkably about his preferred Chief Fire candidate, quite frankly deplorable and abhorrent.

Mr Mold cannot honestly defend his position as PFCC, his tenure is in tatters.

He must resign.

The campaign has got off to a great start, but we're amping up the pressure.

We’re taking our fight to the Northamptonshire Police, Fire and Crime Scrutiny Panel on Thursday 27 July. Join us from 8am at The Great Hall, St Giles Square, Northampton, NN1 1DE to lobby councillors and rally - let us know you're coming by registering at the link below.

Showing up in huge numbers will show the scrutiny panel that we need a PFCC who can be trusted to make decisions that are in the public’s interests – not his friends.

Hope to see you there!
