Successful Campaigns

After taking over 60 days of strike action, the workers at National Museums Liverpool have won their dispute! The workers voted to accept a one-off £1,200 cost-of-living payment, two extra days' holiday a year and a 35% discount in museum cafes. Thank you to everyone who supported the campaign - there's power in a union!

RAFA Kidz, who deliver not-for-profit nursery care across much of the wider defence estate, are taking over the Abbey Wood Woodpeckers nursery! With just under 400 signatories in a short time, this has been an effective demonstration of strength of feeling and numbers. Thank you to all for your support!

Thanks to everyone who supported our campaign, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were forced to rethink the cuts and put forward new proposals. These proposals have now been accepted by the fire authority. Under the new plan, four fire engines have been saved and a number of stations will retain whole-time firefighters for day-time fire cover seven days a week. The service has also been forced to change plans which would have seen huge numbers of firefighter posts cut. Together, we’ve helped to keep East Sussex residents safe.

Phoenix Dance Theatre have told the dancers and creative team that the layoffs are stopped. We won!

Campaign success! After 3 months of strike action and tireless campaigning, the workers have voted to accept an inflation beating pay rise which works out at 10.74% based on a median wage or £3,125 in cash terms. Plus, the total financial gain includes a one-off payment of £700 for most workers. Isn't it time you joined a union?

We are hospital support staff working for Compass in St Helens & Knowsley and Blackpool NHS Trusts. We keep hospitals clean, cook for patients and keep them safe. We are paid over £1000 less per year and have worse terms & conditions than some of our colleagues who do the same jobs. That's why we are standing together for fair pay and fair treatment. #ONENHS, nobody left out.

On 14th February 2024, we delivered this petition to Council Leader Cammy Day and convener of the Finance Committee, Mandy Watt. Over 3,500 of us have called on them to reverse savage school cuts that would massively impact the children of our city. As a result of this campaign and your support of this petition, we have had assurances that alternatives have been found for this year in the latest budget proposals. This is a huge win for our campaign and Edinburgh schools! Pressure from the campaign secured renewed commitment to implement universal 'free school meals' We also won our demand to write off school meal debt. Over £300,000 of school meal debt was written off.
