• North West Ambulance Service; Answer THIS Emergency Call NOW!
Without Contact Centre Educators there would be no people trained and ready to take our emergency calls.  North West Ambulance Service recognised that there was a recruitment and retention issue by introducing the additional payment to the educators role; the recruitment and retention issues haven't gone away and neither should the payment.

  • Too hot to ride! Cool our buses
As the climate crisis heats up, so do our buses!  Mayor Brabin is currently negotiating the bus franchising contracts for West Yorkshire’s soon to arrive publicly controlled bus system. She has the opportunity to write mandatory conditions into these contracts that will force bus operators to introduce effective aircon, shaded bus shelters, more staff and rest breaks, and two sets of doors on buses to keep passengers and drivers safer. Join the Better Buses for West Yorkshire campaign  in demanding she take action now, and cool our buses down!

  • Demand NHS Terms for NHS Work - Airedale Hospital
SUPPORT STAFF AT AIREDALE HOSITAL DEMAND EQUAL TERMS FOR EQUAL WORK Porters, domestics, catering and security staff who work for AGH Solutions (AGHS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, are calling for parity across the workforce. AGHS uses its subsidiary status to not honour the NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions, despite using the same status to avoid VAT on procurement and other purchasing rules. Frontline workers are missing out on NHS pensions, sick pay rates, annual leave and Sunday working enhancements. GMB are calling for NHS terms for everyone working across AGH Solutions. Joe Wheatley GMB Organiser said: 'These workers are essential to the smooth running of the Airedale hospital. Without them patients would not be safe or seen. It cannot be right that they are being treated as second class workers.  'The last thing our members want to do is strike and disrupt patients lives, but we've been left with no choice' 'Its time Airedale and AGHS recognise the skills of these vital staff and get back to serious pay negotiations.'

  • SAY NO TO DANGEROUS BAG SPLITTING
The Pallion Centre is already understaffed. Introducing this policy not only puts workers at risk but is also an invasion of user privacy.   We call on SUEZ to think again and put its people before profit.

  • TFL Employee Diabetic Policy Demand
TFL employees need diabetic policies because diabetes can impact work performance and productivity, potentially leading to increased absenteeism. By understanding the needs of employees with diabetes, TFL can implement suitable  reasonable adjustments and support systems that allow them to manage their condition effectively and remain productive at work. This includes recognizing that diabetes is often considered a disability under the Equality Act 2010, requiring employers to make reasonable adjustments.

  • Save our Centres
Phoenix, Greenfields, and Hungerford day centres provide invaluable support to some of the most vulnerable adults in society, including adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and for those with frailty and dementia. They are oversubscribed and much loved by the community. Closure of these services is short sighted and will place additional pressure and costs on other public services such as homecare, care homes, and the NHS. Dedicated and experienced centre staff will lose their jobs and service users (and their families) will be negatively impacted. The centres are purpose built and were recently refurbished at significant cost to the council. They survived and thrived despite a decade of council cuts and austerity. But today these essential services risk being lost forever.

  • Demand the billionaire breakup of Wilts health services is paused!
On 1 April, a huge portion of Wiltshire's health services (including 2,000 NHS trained staff) will be given away to a billionaire private equity investment firm, Twenty20 Capital.  This unprecedented transfer risks patient care, the breakup and disruption of services and the driving down of health workers pay and conditions.  The local Integrated Care Board, who awarded the contract to private healthcare firm HCRG (owned by billionaire private equity investment firm Twenty20 Capital) in October, did so quickly, quietly and without meeting several of their legal obligations. Please join us urgently in asking the relevant councils to formally request the Secretary of State pause this transfer to enable proper scrutiny and accountability to take place and avoid disruption to the public health service. • Get Me Home Safely Norwich.
The council CAN and SHOULD use it's powers around late night licensing criteria to ensure Hospitality venues provide free transport for late night and anti-social hours workers. The council must also call for improved late night transport provision,  minimum standards for taxi and private hire safety and stronger enforcement of harassment on public transport. 16 UK councils have agreed to support the campaign- let's make Norwich safe too!

  • Say ‘No’ to privatisation of NHS finance functions, putting 84 jobs on the line
These circumstances directly impact 84 hardworking and devoted members of NHS staff, many of whom have been loyal employees for up to 35 years. Previous outsourcing experiments such as Carillion and Circle have shown that the private sector ultimately fails to provide the long term stability that the NHS requires to grow and function successfully, and the burden of the consequences is carried by staff, patients, and the taxpayer.
